When you visit Universal Orlando Resort, you have the option to take your own photos or use a paid photo service called My Universal Photos to do it for you or my favorite...BOTH. In this guide, we are going to tell you all there is to know about My Universal Photo, like the cost, where you can use it and more!
The My Universal Photos pass is the perfect way for you to capture photos on rides or while you’re exploring the incredible lands. My Universal Photos can be taken all over the park, with dedicated team members posted and ready to capture your memories or with automated selfie areas.
What is the My Universal Photos Pass?
The Universal Orlando Photo Pass, or My Universal Photos, is a program at the Universal Orlando Resort theme parks and water parks to capture the perfect moments. The My Universal Photos package is an extra add on that can be purchased before or during your Universal vacation. Photos at Universal Orlando are taken in partnership with Colorvision’s Amazing Pictures to produce high-quality, vibrant photos.
That means the thrilling moments on rides, awesome character interactions and even perfect moments can be captured and kept as memories or even turned into specialized merchandise! Guests love purchasing the My Universal Photo package to remember their trips for a lifetime, which is the best kind of souvenir.
How does the My Universal Photos package work at Universal Orlando?
Keep an eye out as you walk around Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay, as there are photographers who will offer to take the photos of you and your party. Each photographer will scan your My Universal Photos card before capturing your photo. There are also select rides that offer Universal Orlando photos which are taken of your party while on the ride.
Guests can manage their photos through the My Universal Photos site, or can speak to My Universal Photos representatives throughout the park. Here are the photo locations to look out for throughout the parks:
Where can I use My Universal Photos?
You can use your My Universal Photos package at all three Universal Orlando Parks: Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay!
There are three different ways to capture your vacation memories:
Have one of the professional photographers scan your card before taking a photo.
Scan it yourself at one of our selfie stations.
Scan it at a kiosk at the end of participating rides.
Once scanned, the photos will automatically show up on your My Universal Photos account. Don't forget to ALWAYS scan your My Universal Photos card! They will not automatically be updated on your account unless you scan your card.
Which My Universal Photos packages can I choose from?
When it comes to the My Universal Photos packages, there isn’t a one size fits all. There are three different packages that guests can purchase.

One (1) 8x10 photo print from Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts and one (1) 8x10 photo print from Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey

When should I purchase the My Universal Photos package?
In order to ensure ALL your memories are stored, it is very important that the My Universal Photos package is purchased in advance of your visit. There isn't currently a good system in place to store your memories for later purchase like Walt Disney World. I always recommend purchasing this in advance, to all my clients, so you won't miss a photo or moment, as a bonus you save money by purchasing in advance!
How Much is the My Universal Photo package 2023?
Each photo package has a different price, as well as, individual physical prints of the rides. You can purchase the Universal photo packages in advance and save about $10 per package or purchase them in person for a slightly higher price and have the chance that you have missed some key memories entering the parks.

Please note the pre-purchased My Universal Photos packages do not become valid until you activate them when you receive your My Universal Photos card. Make sure to link your My Universal Photos card to your account or stop by a My Universal Photos station at the front of the park you’re visiting first - for assistance.
What is the pricing for individual Universal Orlando Resort photos?
If you’re wanting to do a more à la cart option of Universal photos, that is absolutely an option for guests. For an individual 5×7 physical print without a package, it is $21. If you are looking for both a physical print and a digital copy, it is $26 per photo, however, please note that some locations are more expensive due to licensing. So make sure to check the Universal photo kiosk at the end of the each attraction if you are concerned about your photos.
The value of the My Universal Photos package includes discounts for prints and other special keepsakes like frames and DVDs where applicable.
Which rides include My Universal Photos?
One of the best parts about the My Universal Photos package is that you can get your photo taken while you’re on many of the amazing Universal rides throughout the parks. That’s right, in the middle of the action, Universal has cameras set up during ride experiences to remember your adventure forever. Of course, the Universal ride photos are extremely fun and make a for a great souvenir but there are also plenty of other photo locations for those who may not want ride photos. In all three parks you can find either professional photographers or automated My Universal Photo locations. Whether you’re looking for the perfect park day kick-off photo, or a selfie with Spider-Man, there is a Universal photo opportunity for you. How to View Universal Photos
If you have pre-purchased a My Universal Photos package, all of your images taken in the park will be uploaded to mobile app called “Amazing Pictures Mobile” or on Universal Orlando Amazing Pictures. You can download your photos, share them on social media or email them to yourself! The My Universal Photos app also allows you to archive your photos or have your photos printed on just about anything!
Reminder: End of Ride Queues
Don't forget to scan your card as you exit participating rides, you can add photos onto your My Universal Photos account by stopping by the My Universal Photos kiosks. Some rides have completely automated My Universal Photos kiosks where you can scan your card and go!
